• Parenting Strategies: Proven Approaches to Managing Child Behavior and Building Resilient, Successful Children

o Our parenting group is a 6-10 week group depending on the needs of the group. The group format allows for parents to share their experiences with other parents and get feedback and support. Specifically, the group focuses on managing behaviors related to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and problematic behaviors associated with Autism Spectrum Diagnoses. The first four sessions are appropriate for all parents who have children with these diagnoses and provide the “fundamentals” needed to manage specific problems. The remaining sessions are more specific and focus on each disorder and common behaviors that parents manage with a specific diagnosis. Depending on the group we typically devote 2 – 3 sessions to each diagnosis and parents can attend which sessions apply to their situation.

• Organization and Study Skills

o Families Forward offers a course to help children and adolescents get organized for academics and other realms of life. We identify behavioral strategies that aid children and adolescents in reaching their academic goals.
